LEaP - Learning and Plasticity Lab

Hi! I’m Gaia Olivo, P.I. of the LEaP group. Our research focuses on investigating rapid brain plasticity in response to skill learning, aka how our brain changes when we learn new skills.

Exploring rapid brain plasticity…

Óur brain is capable of reorganizing its structure and circuits within minutes in response to new challenges.

…with high-resolution brain imaging…

Magnetic resonance imaging allows us to measure changes in brain structure, volume, and connectivity.

…using a translational approach.

By integrating preclinical and human studies, we combine foundational research with societal impact.

REWIRE Update: new team members!

Welcome to Dr. Daniel Marcellino and Sean Cully, who have joined the REWIRE project!

REWIRE aims to answers fundamental questions about rapid brain plasticity with a translational approach, combining ultra-high resolution imaging of the brain in both humans and mice.

Soon hiring

We will soon recruit research assistants to join us for data collection in the REWIRE project. Interested in learning how to perform MRI scanning of the human brain? Stay tuned!
